Vietnamese automobile company Vinfast has entered the Indian market today (January 18) by revealing the VF7 and VF6 electric SUVs at the Auto Expo 2025. The company has also showcased VF3, VFe34, VF8, VF9 electric SUV, VF Wild pickup truck at the event.
The company will first launch both electric SUVs VF7 and VF6 in the Indian market this year. Both the cars are expected to arrive by September. India is the first automobile market where the company will launch a righthand electric car. The company claims that it will get a range of up to 450 kilometers.
VF7 electric SUV can be priced at Rs 50 lakh VinFast VF7 is a compact 5-seater electric SUV offered in two variants – Eco and Eco. Its price in India is expected to start from Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Whereas, VF6 price is expected to start from Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, these electric cars will compete with Mahindra XEV 9e, BYD Celian 7, Hyundai Ioniq 6 and Kia EV6.
1. Vinfast VF7 Electric SUV VF7 is an all-electric SUV, which has a 75.3kWh battery pack. The company has not yet disclosed the variant of the car. But, for performance, it will have the option of two different electric motors. It will have the option of a single electric motor, which will generate 201hp power and 310Nm torque with front wheel drive. It will get a range of 450 kilometers on full charge.
Apart from this, the car will also come with dual electric motor. This setup generates 348hp power and 500Nm torque with 4-wheel drive. In this, both the motors will supply power to all four wheels. It will get a range of 431km on full charge.
Vinfast VF7 : Exterior Vinfast has given an aerodynamic design to both the electric SUVs, while their interior design inside the cabin is also inspired by the cockpit of an aeroplane. Sleek LED DRL’s are provided in the front of VF7, below which is the headlight. Despite being an electric car, it has been given a traditional honeycomb grill which makes its look attractive.
Raised wheel arches and body cladding are provided on the sides. It has been given flush fitted door handles like Tata Curve, which gives it a premium touch. Connected LED taillight and black colored rear bumper is provided in the rear. The length of the VF7 car is 4,545 mm, width is 1,890 mm and height is 1,635 mm, while its wheelbase size is 2,840 mm.
Interior: Dual-tone color theme will be available To give a clean look to the cabin of VF7, only a floating infotainment system has been provided on its dashboard. It has some buttons for drive mode selection at the bottom of the infotainment system, while its center console offers a good amount of storage space. The cabin has been given many silver accents with dual-tone color theme. Instrument cluster is not provided in VF7, instead it will get headup display.
Features: 8 airbags with level-2 ADAS VinFast VF7 has features like 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology, headup display, panoramic glass roof and wireless phone charger. At the same time, for safety, it also has many Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features including 8 airbags, electronic stability control, 360 degree camera system, which include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and blind spot detection.
Vinfast VF6 Electric SUV The design of this compact electric SUV car is futuristic. Its front has sleek full wide LED DRLs, below which are the headlights. The charging flap is placed in the fender on the driver’s side, while the alloy wheels look stylish in dual-tone finish. There are connected LED tail lights, which look similar to the front DRLs.
The cabin of the car looks premium due to its dual-tone interior of dark brown and black color. There are soft touch inserts on the dashboard and door pads. The VF6 comes in a 5-seater configuration.
Talking about the features, it has a 12.9 inch touchscreen, automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats and head-up display. For safety, the car has been provided with 8 airbags, 360 degree camera and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) like the VF7.
