Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has started the discussion on the Constitution in the winter session of the Lok Sabha. This discussion will continue for two days. Starting the discussion on the Constitution, Rajnath Singh said that we the people of India had adopted the Constitution on 26 November 1949. He heartily congratulated this House and all the citizens of the country on the occasion of completion of 75 years of the adoption of the Constitution. He said that our Constitution paves the way for nation building by touching all aspects of social, economic, political and cultural life. The Constitution is not just a legal document but sets the path for nation building. It is a reflection of the aspirations of the people.
This debate on the Constitution will continue till Saturday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will respond to the debate on Saturday. 12 to 15 leaders from BJP will participate in this discussion. From the Congress side, Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and other leaders will speak on the Constitution.
Some people hijacked the Constitution
Rajnath Singh said, “In the last few years, such an atmosphere was created in the country that the Constitution is for a particular class of people. The role of many people in the making of the Constitution was deliberately ignored. The Constitution is the nectar that came out of the fire of the freedom struggle.” The Constitution has been hijacked by a particular party. The Constitution itself gives citizens the power to work together. Our government has accepted the Constitution with an open and honest heart. I feel proud that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Working in the spirit of ‘Sabka Vikas’.
Rahul-Priyanka will also speak
Congress will get 2 hours 20 minutes for debate on Constitution Day. The Parliamentary Strategic Group of Congress also held talks regarding the winter session of Parliament and discussion on the Constitution. Senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra both will speak in the House. This will be Priyanka’s first speech. Congress has issued a three-line whip in the House for both the days and has asked its MPs to be present in the House on both the days. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will initiate the debate on behalf of the opposition in Rajya Sabha.
