Maruti Suzuki introduced the concept model of EVX at the 2023 Auto Expo.
Toyota’s first electric car will be based on Maruti Suzuki EVX. Suzuki and Toyota issued a common statement on Wednesday (October 30) announcing their first collaboration in the electric vehicle (EV) segment. However, information about the name or specification of this EV has not been given.
According to the statement, Toyota’s first electric car will be an SUV, which will be manufactured at Suzuki Motor Group’s plant in Hansalpur, Gujarat. It has become clear that Toyota’s first EV will be based on Maruti Suzuki EVX, because Maruti is planning to launch its first electric SUV next year.
It was told in the statement that the production of this electric SUV will be started in the last quarter of 2025. Both versions of the SUV will be launched first in the Indian market. After this, both the models will be exported to foreign markets like Japan, Middle East and Europe.
Electric SUV has been seen during testing Recently this electric car has been seen several times during testing. Many design elements from the Japan Mobility Expo concept version are seen in it. It will have a closed-off grille with Y-shaped LED DRL, flush-type door handle and connected tail lights. The cabin of EVX will have a futuristic design, which will have dual integrated screen like new cars.

Driving range up to 550km on full charge For performance, the eVX will be provided with a 60KWh battery pack and an electric motor. The company claims that this car will give a driving range of up to 550km once fully charged. However, a smaller battery pack variant with a range of around 400 km can also be found in this production model. At the same time, power figures have not been revealed yet.

The car is based on Toyota’s 40PL platform The eVX is based on Toyota’s 40PL platform designed for electric vehicles, with space for fitment of batteries on the floorboard. With this the car cabin is going to be quite spacious. This EV will be manufactured at Suzuki’s manufacturing plant in Gujarat. After Maruti Suzuki, Toyota will also launch a new electric SUV in the Indian market.
