Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Friday unveiled his first robotaxi ‘Cybercab’.
Electric vehicle maker Tesla company on Friday revealed its first robotaxi ‘Cybercab’. In the ‘V-Robot’ event held in California, USA, the company’s CEO Elon Musk introduced the robotaxi with AI feature.
This two-seat taxi has neither steering nor pedals. Consumers will be able to buy Tesla Cybercab for less than $30,000 (about Rs 25 lakh). Elon Musk expressed hope that production of Cybercab would start before 2027.
The company introduced another autonomous vehicle ‘Robovan’ which will be capable of carrying 20 people. Luggage can also be carried in it. Giving an example, Musk said that it can be used for transportation of sports teams.
This two-seater robotaxi has neither steering nor pedals.

Features of Cybercab, it has neither steering nor pedals
- The cost of running Cybercab will be 20 cents per mile i.e. about Rs 16 per 1.6 kilometre.
- There will be no need of any kind of plug to charge it, that is, wireless charging is provided in it.
- CyberCab is a fully self-driven electric car, which does not have any steering wheel or pedals.
- The cabin is quite compact and can accommodate only 2 passengers. A flat screen is provided on the dashboard.
Design inspired by Cyber Truck, this two-door car The design of the Cybercap is very similar to the Cybertruck. A thin connecting LED light is provided in the front of the car, which works as a DRL. Projector headlamps have been provided at both its ends. Butterfly-wing doors on the side add to the futuristic design of the car. It is a two-door car. A cyber truck-like storage cabin has been provided in its rear part.
Elon Musk wants to develop a fleet of taxis Musk plans to develop a fleet of self-driving Tesla taxis. Tesla owners will also be able to list their vehicles as part-time taxis. That means owners can earn money through the network when they are not using their cars.
The new Robotaxi model is a compact, futuristic two-seater with butterfly doors. It directly targets established autonomous taxi services like Waymo and Cruise, with Tesla hoping to carve out a niche in this competitive market.
Tesla’s strategy is to rely on its camera-based Fully Self-Driving (FSD) system, which is quite different from competitors like Waymo that use lidar and radar technology. This technology is more expensive than Tesla’s technology.
