Tata Motors today (27 January) has launched the dark edition of its CNG version of its most popular car Nexon. Nexon CNG Dark Edition is based on Creative+ and Fearless+ Trims and has an all-black exterior and interior theme.
This compact SUV comes with Turbo Petrol Engine. Therefore, it is the first car in India to come with TRRBO petrol engine and CNG combination. The company claims that the car will run 24 km in one kilo CNG.
Tata Nexon ICNG Dark Edition starts ₹ 12.70 lakhs Nexon’s dark edition was launched last year. At the same time, its CNG version was launched in September-2024. The Creative+ has been priced at Rs 12.70 lakh in the Nexon ICNG Dark Edition, which is Rs 40,000 more than the regular CNG variant, while Nexon CNG’s top-species+ ps dark trim is expensive by Dark Trim Regular variant.
What is new in Nexon ICNG Dark Edition? The Dark Edition of Tata Nexon ICNG has a 16 -inch black alloy wheels with an all black exterior. ‘Dark’ is found on the side fender of SUV, while it has been given the badge of ‘Nexon’ in black color. The Nexon ICNG Dark Edition features All Black Interior and Ladrett seat upholstery. In these, the branding of ‘dark’ will also be seen on the headrest.
Exterior: New Design LED setup and alloy wheels will be found Talking about the design, Nexon ICG is similar to its petrol-diesel regular model. Its front has the new LED DRLS Split Headlamp setup. LED headlamps are placed on sporty bumper below it. The rear has a full connected LED tail light, which the company calls ‘X Factor Tail Lamp’. It also gets welcome and goodbye function.
Interior: 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system The cabin of the car has a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel. In addition, the car has a new gear selector on the dashboard with a touch panel HVAC unit and center console. Tata Nexon ICNG will get a new 10.25 -inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25 -inch fully digital instrument cluster. Its top variant has front ventilated seats.
60-liter-with twin-cylinder tank setup You will get to see twin cylinder technology in the boot of Nexon ICNG Dark Edition. This technology has a 60-liter twin-cylinder tank setup (two cylinders of 30–30 liters). This provides a 321 liter boot space in Nexon ICNG, which is 61 liters less than petrol and diesel variants.
Safety feature of gas leak detect In Nexon ICNG, Tata has given a safety feature to detect gas leaks like other CNG models. In case of CNG leakage in the car, the leak detection technology automatically shifts the vehicle to petrol mode from CNG. It also alerts the technology driver about gas leaks.
In addition, a micro switch has been given to keep the car closed while filling the fuel. This switch closes ignition as soon as the lid (lid) opens. This does not allow the car to start until the fuel lid is safely closed. It also gives an alert of ‘Close Fuel Lid’ on the instrument cluster.
Nexon twin cylinder comes with technology.
Performance: Petrol, Diesel, CNG and Electric There has been no mechanical change in the Tata Nexon ICNG Dark Edition. It has a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol CNG engine for performance, which generates 100PS power and 170Nm torque. For transmission it is tuned with a 6-speed manual gearbox. With this, the option of automatic transmission is not given yet.
At the same time, in the Ice powered version of Nexon, this engine generates power of 120PS and torque of 170Nm. It provides 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic transmission) and 6-speed AMT (automated manual transmission) choice of gearbox.
Apart from this, Nexon also has a 115PS power and a 1.5-liter diesel engine with torque of 260Nm, with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT Gearbox option. Tata also comes in Nexon Electric version. With this, it has become the first car in the country, which comes in the four versions of petrol, diesel, CNG and electric.
Features: Electric Sunroof with Voice Command Tata Nexon is laces with several advanced features. These include Tata’s IRA 2.0 mobile connected-technology, voice assisted electric sunroof, JBL 9-spicker sound system, wireless charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, first segment navigation display on the instrument cluster. Apart from this, electric panoramic sunroof is also available with cruise control, height adjustable driver seat, leather upholstery and voice command in the top variant of the car.
Safety Features: 360-Digry Camera and TPMS 360-degree camera for safety in Nexon, front and rear parking sensor, first category blind-view monitor, ESP, 6 airbags, hill-hold control, roll over metigation, traction control, isofix child anchor seat and tire processing monitoring system ( TPMS) features like TPMS.
