Instagram service across the world remained halted for about an hour today on Tuesday. Instagram was down around 11.30 am. Many users reported it being down on other social media platforms and service monitoring platform DownDetector.
When Instagram was down, many users were facing problems in app login, while some users were facing server connection issues. Users were seeing a message which read – ‘Sorry something went wrong’. However, the service resumed at 12:30 pm.
64% users have problem in login and 24% in server.
According to Downdetector, initially 64% of users reported problems logging into their Instagram account, with 24% of users facing server connection issues. Whereas 11% users were having trouble accessing the Instagram app.
The app was down on 15th May and 5th March also
Earlier on May 15, Facebook and Instagram were down for many users across the world. Then users were facing trouble in refreshing the feed. At the same time, Instagram and Facebook were also down on the night of March 5.
Even then users faced problems in logging in and refreshing the feed. On Facebook, users’ accounts were automatically logged out, while on Instagram, users were unable to refresh new feeds.

This problem came to light around 9.15 pm. The effect of this outage was also visible on Facebook shares in the American market. The company’s shares had fallen by 6%.

On July 3, 2019, at 8 pm, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram were down in many countries including India and America. After being down for about 9 and a half hours, it was fixed on July 4, 2019.
