Islamabad: Pakistan’s anti-terrorism court has issued non-bailable arrest against former Prime Minister Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and 93 others in a case related to protests by supporters of Imran Khan’s party in Islamabad last week. Warrant has been issued. After this decision of the court, the troubles of Khan and his supporters are going to increase.
PTI workers demonstrated
Imran Khan, founder of ‘Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’ (PTI) had given the slogan of ‘Do or Die’ for the nationwide demonstration on 24 November. During the protest, Khan’s supporters demanded his release and other leaders, recognition of PTI’s victory in the February 8 elections and repeal of the 26th Constitutional Amendment. The 26th Constitutional Amendment changed the process of appointment of judges and the Chief Justice.

Islamabad Police submitted a list of 96 suspects to the capital-based Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), which includes prominent party leaders like Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, Gandapur, former President Arif Alvi, former Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser, party President Gauhar Khan, The names of opposition leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan and many other leaders were included.
Court accepted police request
Islamabad Police had requested the court to issue arrest warrants against all of them and ATC judge Tahir Abbas Sipra accepted their request and issued non-bailable arrest warrants against 96 people, including Khan. (Language)
