Police misbehaved in police station
A shocking incident has come to light with an army jawan and his girlfriend in Odisha’s capital Bhubaneswar. Captain Gurvansh and his girlfriend were travelling in their car late at night in Bhubaneswar. Then 12-13 people in three vehicles started harassing them.
The miscreants pushed and shoved while abusing
These miscreants chased the car at high speed and abused the army jawan and his fiancée. The miscreants also pushed and shoved them. Army jawan Gurvansh and his girlfriend somehow managed to escape from these goons by sitting in their car.
Police was reluctant to register FIR
After the incident, the army jawan reached Bharatpur police station to lodge a complaint. The jawan had noted down the registration number of the car of the person who was driving recklessly. When the army jawan talked about registering a case on this matter, the police started procrastinating.
The police started making excuses
To avoid filing a report on this matter, the police started making excuses. The police told the army jawan’s girlfriend to get a medical checkup done first and that our in-charge is not here. An FIR can be filed only when he comes.
The victim pleaded before the police
The army jawan said that he had a verbal fight with the woman SI present in the police station. Where the girlfriend of the army jawan told the woman SI, ‘I am a citizen of India and you are a public servant. You have to serve the people. You are wasting the taxpayer’s money and you should not serve by wearing a uniform.’
Female police officer abused the victim
On this, the woman SI abused the army man’s girlfriend in Odia language by calling her a ‘prostitute’. She also abused her in vulgar language. This led to an altercation between the two. Captain Gurvansh started making a video of the incident on his mobile phone, which showed the reluctance of the police to take any action. This further infuriated the police.
The victim was beaten up inside the police station
Meanwhile, the policemen caught Army Captain Gurvansh and snatched all his belongings. He was illegally locked in the jail locker. At the same time, two female officers grabbed the victim’s hair and slapped her hard. Due to this, the victim was badly injured.
