Central government Taking a big decision for the workers across the country on Thursday, the government announced to increase the minimum wage rate to Rs 1,035 per day. The government has taken this decision by revising the variable dearness allowance for workers. The Labor Ministry statement said that the main objective of this decision is to help the workers to overcome the increasing cost of living. After this amendment, the minimum wage rate in sector ‘A’ for workers doing unskilled work like construction, cleaning, loading and unloading of goods will be Rs 783 per day (Rs 20,358 per month).
Which category of workers will get how much minimum salary
Apart from this, the minimum wage rate for semi-skilled workers will be Rs 868 per day (Rs 22,568 per month) and the minimum wage rate for skilled, clerical and unarmed watchman or guard will be Rs 954 per day (Rs 24,804 per month). The minimum wage rate for highly skilled and people doing watchman or guard work with weapons will be Rs 1,035 per day (Rs 26,910 per month). The minimum wage rates are divided on the basis of skill levels – unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled and highly skilled as well as geographical areas like A, B and C.
