Rain burning person Salwan Momika
Stockholm: A man named Salwan Momika has been shot dead in Sweden. This man had lit copies of the Quran several times in the year 2023. This case of burning copies of the Quran had increased so much that Muslim countries also criticized it. Salwan was a Christian citizen of Iraqi origin. Swedish media reported that Salwan died during a shootout in a nearby city.
Decision was to be pronounced against Momika
The Stockholm District Court said that the verdict was to be pronounced in a trial against Momika, which was postponed as the accused died. Goraran Lundahal, a judge of the court, confirmed that the deceased was the momika. He said that he has no idea about when and how Momika died.
Police started investigation
Police said they had received information about firing on Wednesday night at Sodarjeje near Stockholm and they found a person who was injured by the bullet. He later died. Police said that investigation into the matter has been started. Protests were also held in many Muslim countries after the insult of the Quran against Momika.

Reports suggest that the Sweden government was not taking any action against Momika due to the free speech. There were frequent demonstrations in angry Islamic countries. The Swedish Embassy was also attacked in Iraq. Sweden canceled Momika’s residence permit in 2023 due to protest. Iraq also demanded his extradition but the Swedish officials refused.
