Mahindra & Mahindra is going to launch its two electric cars XEV 9e and BE 6e today (26 November). The company has released many teasers of both the cars. The company had recently revealed the battery pack. Both the EVs will come with 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs.
Before this, the exterior and interior designs of both the cars have been revealed. Both electric vehicles have a coupe roofline and will be the first electric cars to come under the new XEV and Born Electric brands, which will be based on the new Inglo platform.
Multi-zone AC, wireless phone charger and premium audio system can be provided in both electric cars. For safety, safety features like 6 airbags as standard and Level 2 ADAS can be provided.
Exterior Design: Both EVs are based on Anglo platform The upcoming XEV 9e and BE 6e are based on the INGLO platform, which is designed for high performance. Electric cars with rear-wheel-drive, front-wheel-drive, and all-wheel-drive configurations can be manufactured on this platform. The XEV 9e will give the feel of a luxury electric car, while the BE 6e will offer bold and athletic performance.
According to the new teaser, the XEV 9e and BE 6e electric SUVs will get a futuristic, aerodynamic design with sharp-looking elements. The front of the XEV 9e features L-shaped LED DRLs, a closed grille with a connected LED lightbar and vertical lighting, a swooping bonnet and the new Mahindra EV logo.
At the same time, BE 6e will have a front light system inspired by XUV 3XO and it will have BE logo instead of Mahindra logo. BE 9e has inverted C-shaped connected LED DRL and connected LED tail light. Both electric SUVs will get bold character lines and large wheel arches.
Interior: Both have 2-spoke steering wheel and panoramic sunroof. Earlier, a glimpse of the cabin of Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e was shown. The XEV 9e has a triple screen setup, which includes a digital driver display, a touch screen and a passenger display. Whereas BE 6e has a dual integrated screen. Both models have a 2-spoke steering wheel with illuminated logo and panoramic sunroof.
There will be support for 175 kilowatt DC fast charging. The company has shared the specifications of the battery pack and electric motor of both the cars. Mahindra XEV 9e and Mahindra BE 6e will have the option of 59kWh and 79kWh battery pack. For charging, they will have support for 175 kW DC fast charging. With this, the battery will be charged from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
Both cars will be rear wheel drive with electric motors mounted on the rear axle, with power outputs ranging between 231hp and 286hp. Mahindra has not yet disclosed their certified range, but their certified range can be from 450km to 500km.
Features: Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System can be available Talking about the features, XEV 9e can be provided with multi-zone AC, wireless phone charger, premium audio system and ventilated and powered seats. Vehicle-to-load and regeneration modes will also be available in it.

Starting price Rs 24 lakh ex-showroom Mahindra Mahindra XEV 9e will compete with the upcoming Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV. At the same time, BE 6e will compete with Tata Curve EV, MG ZS EV, upcoming Maruti e-Vitara and Hyundai Creta EV.
