Youth gives water to thirsty cheetahs
Shivpuri: In Kuno National Park of Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh, the driver of the forest department gave water to thirsty cheetahs. His video also went viral on the internet while giving water to thirsty cheetahs. But the case has raised serious questions on the safety of cheetahs in and in Kuno National Park.
What is the matter?
In fact, the incident took place a few days ago, when the female cheetah Jwala and her four cubs were wandering out of the border of Kuno National Park and wandering in nearby rural areas. During this time, the driver of the forest department, Satyanarayana Gurjar, introduced humanity and poured water in a vessel to quench the thirst of the cheetahs and kept it near the cheetahs. The viral video shows that Jwala and her cubs are drinking water in peace and return to the forest.
As soon as the video went viral, the forest department came into action and started investigation. Investigation revealed that the case was on the morning of 4 April 2025. The leopards were roaming the agriculture area in the sun close to the human settlement. During this time a driver gave water to Cheetah Jwala and four of his children in a steel bowl.
Why action was taken?
According to the press note of the director of Lion Projector in this case, only authorized people can go close to the leopard for a particular work. The monitoring team has been trained to handle the leopard closely. The rest have clear instructions to stay away from cheetahs. But in this incident, the field staff violated the instructions and showed indiscipline. Apart from this, a video was made and shared in the media disregarding every discipline and instruction in this regard, due to which action is being taken against the employees concerned.
It is obvious that while giving water to the cheetah near human settlement, this video denys all the claims of the forest department, according to which the cheetahs are being kept under full monitoring and they are completely safe. But the leopage of the cheetahs and their cubs in such a way shows that there are neither enough hunting arrangements nor enough water for them to drink. Due to which these leopards are being forced to go to human habitat, which can also create a serious crisis for their lives.
