Hero MotoCorp has today (September 6) launched the updated version of Hero Splendor Plus Xtec in the Indian market. The company’s top selling bike will now come with disc brakes. However, drum brakes will be available on the rear wheel. Splendor
Splendor Plus Xtec has been introduced with new graphics and minor cosmetic updates. Apart from this, the company has not made any changes in the design, other hardware and engine of the bike. This bike runs 73 kilometers in one liter of petrol.

The disc brake variant of the new Splendor +XTEC comes in three colour options.
Splendor Plus Xtec with disc brake is costlier by Rs 3550 Hero has priced the disc brake variant of the bike at Rs 83,461 ex-showroom, which is Rs 3550 more than the drum brake variant. The drum brake trim is priced at Rs 79,911 ex-showroom. The disc brake variant will be available in three colour options, which include Black Sparkling Blue, Black Tornado Grey, and Red Black colour.
Apart from the three colours, the drum brake variant also has the option of pearl fadeless white colour. The disc brake variant of the bike is 1.6kg heavier than the standard model, whose kerb weight is 113.6kg. In India, the new Splendor Plus competes with the Honda Shine 100, Bajaj CT 100, Bajaj Platina and TVS Radian.

Splendor Plus Xtec: Performance Splendor Plus Xtec has a 97.2CC air-cooled, single-cylinder engine for performance. This petrol engine generates 8.02 hp at 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The engine is tuned with a 4-speed gearbox for transmission and i3s technology has been used in it.
This is an idle stop start system, in which the engine stops automatically in 5 seconds after parking the bike and starts again as soon as the clutch is pressed. This reduces fuel consumption. The company claims that the bike gives a mileage of 73 kmpl. It has a fuel tank with a capacity of 9.8 liters.

Splendor Plus Xtec: Braking, Suspension and Features For comfortable riding, the bike has telescopic forks in the front and 5-step preload adjustable twin shock absorber suspension in the rear. For braking, the top variant gets 240mm front disc brakes and 130mm drum brakes in the rear. Whereas, the standard variant gets 130mm drum brakes on both wheels. The bike has 18-inch wheels with 80-section tubeless tyres. Its ground clearance is 165 mm.
Talking about the features, the bike has a fully digital instrument cluster, which shows mileage information. Apart from this, it gets side-stand indicator, speedometer, odometer, trip meter and low fuel indicator readout, Bluetooth connectivity with call and message alerts, USB charging port and more. The bike now also has hazard lights with dedicated switches.
