Chinese fast-fashion brand app Sheen has been launched once again in the Indian market after 5 years. According to BBC, Sheen got this permission after an agreement with Indian company Reliance Retail. Shortly before, Sheen started testing and cataloging of her collection on Ajio, the online platform of Reliance Retail.
According to the report, the company has made a long -term licensing deal to sell the products manufactured and sourced in India on Reliance platforms. However, no official announcement has been made about this yet.
In December last year, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal told the Lok Sabha that Sheen’s operation will be on a indigenous retail platform in the country. Sheen will not have access to the platform data.
In 2020, India banned dozens of Chinese apps including Sheen and Tiktok.

After shifting his headquarters to Singapore from China, Sheen benefited from 17 thousand crores in 2023. It sold products worth Rs 3.83 lakh crore.
Meaning of Reliance-Shin agreement?
Chinese brand Sheen will get access to e-commerce platforms Ajio and Reliance Retail in 19 thousand stores. Reliance Industries is the world’s largest polyester fiber producer. Its annual capacity is 2.5 million tonnes. Sheen’s product contains large amounts of polyester. This will give support to his manufacturing.
Reliance aims to double the retail business in 4 years. The affordable range of clothing will help him increase its customer base. In FY 2024, Reliance’s income from Reliance’s retail business increased to 3.06 lakh crores.
