Maulana Mahmood Madani in your court
New Delhi: Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President Maulana Mahmood Madani answered questions openly in India TV Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma’s popular TV show Aap Ki Adalat. When Madani was asked whether the law and order situation in UP has improved after the Yogi government’s campaign against mafia dons, Maulana said, ‘Law and order should be strictly maintained but there should be a limit to taking action. If that limit is crossed, it will not be appropriate.
If someone commits a crime, his old parents should not be punished for it: Madani
Responding to a question related to law and order in UP, Madani said that law enforcement should be equal for everyone. Not in a wrong way. I have no objection to taking action against the mafia. My objection is to crossing the limit. If someone commits a crime, his old parents should not be punished for it. Madani was hinting at the bulldozer action against Muslims in UP.
Said this on the claim of Uttar Pradesh Sunni Waqf Board
On the claim of Uttar Pradesh Sunni Waqf Board that the historic Taj Mahal of Agra is Waqf property, Maulana Madani said that if it is Waqf Board’s land, then it belongs to Waqf Board. But there is interference from both sides under the control of Archaeological Survey of India. There are many such properties on which there is interference from both sides. We should think with an open mind as to who is this land going to. It is not that it is going to China or Nepal, or to that country whose name I do not want to take here.
A certain kind of atmosphere is being created that we are something else and have come from some other world. Indian Muslims were given options, out of which we chose India, for us Indian Muslims there is no better place than India.
Madani also spoke on Halal certification
Regarding halal certification, he said that he was questioned by the UP STF (Special Task Force). He said, ‘I was questioned for two days, then for another two days. I also got exemption from the Supreme Court, but I went for questioning.
