Panchkula/Shimla: A case has been registered against 6 people, including a woman who accused the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Haryana Unit President Mohan Lal Badoli and singer Rocky Mittal of rape. Giving information about this on Friday, the police said that a case has been registered against all of them for extortion and criminal intimidation. In developments related to this, Himachal Pradesh Police filed a report of cancellation of the case in a court in the alleged gang rape case against Badoli and Mittal.
‘Statements of 18 people including accused were recorded’
Giving information about this, SP Gaurav Singh of Solan said that a report was filed in the court recently due to no truth in the allegations and lack of evidence. Officials said statements of 18 people including women and accused were recorded. He said that there were contradictions in the statements of the complainant and no CCTV footage was found in support of the woman’s claims. Himachal police registered a case against Badoli and Mittal in December last year.
‘The woman approached in September’
The woman had alleged that she raped her in a hotel in Kasauli. On Mittal’s complaint, the police in Panchkula on Wednesday registered a case against 6 people in various charges including extortion, criminal intimidation and criminal conspiracy. Mittal, who was the chairman of the Special Publicity Cell of the Haryana government, said that in September last year, the woman contacted her. In September last year, Mittal claimed several phone calls from the female complainant and her colleague, claiming that he threatened to implicate him and Badoli in the ‘Honey Trap’ case.
‘Rs 50 lakh demanded’
In his complaint, Mittal said that the accused had demanded Rs 50 lakh to compromise in the gang rape case and Haryana BJP The chairman was pressurized to meet Badoli. Mittal said that he had refused to pay attention to the demand. He said that the accused had also reached the house under construction and accused him of financial fraud. According to Mittal, the accused threatened him after which he lodged a complaint with the police here. (Language)
