Shahrukh Khan rejected 1994 superhit film
Shahrukh Khan is the biggest superstar of Hindi cinema. He has blockbuster films like ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ to ‘Jawan’. Shahrukh is the superstar of the industry with whom everyone wants to work and what to say about his craze among the fans. Shahrukh has given many superhit films in his career. He was also offered a film in 1994, which he refused to do. After this, when the film was released in theaters, it became the biggest hit of the year, which was later regretted by Shah Rukh Khan.
When Shahrukh Khan rejected superhit film
The film was ‘Dilwale’, in which Ajay Devgan, Raveena Tandon and Sunil Shetty were seen in the lead roles. Released in 1994, the film proved to be a big hit at the box office. Now recently the film’s writer Karan Razdan made a disclosure about the film and told that the role of Ajay Devgan in the film was written keeping in mind Shah Rukh Khan, but he refused to do the film due to a condition.
Ajay Devgan gets a role in place of Shahrukh
In a conversation with Siddharth Kanan, Karan Razdan said- ‘The role given to Ajay Devgan in Dilwale was written for Shah Rukh Khan. I went to his house to narrate the story, he also liked the script. But, he said one thing to me- ‘Karan, in the last the heroine should go with another boy.’ When I refused to change the end of the film, he said- ‘If I cannot sacrifice, I cannot do this film.’ Then I went to the set of Ajay’s fruit and offered him this role and he immediately agreed to it. Then we cast Sunil Shetty as the second lead actor.
Subhash Ghai was also not affected by casting
Karan Razdan further says- ‘Subhash Ghai was not at all happy with this casting. I showed him the film after 80 percent of the shooting was completed and his response shocked me. He told me- if you want to cry, then cry now, because anyway you are going to cry after the release of the film. I asked why- so said ‘Do you have any complaint with Ajay Devgan?’ He could not comment much on Sunil, because he was new. On the other hand, Raveena Tandon gave about 12 flops. People used to tease me and say- ‘Thirte will be yours.’
Shahrukh also met
Karan remembered how Shah Rukh also congratulated him, met him and hugged him after the film was successful. During this time he admitted that his demand to change the end was wrong. He expressed happiness that he remained adamant on his perspective. The romantic action ‘Dilwale’, directed by Harry Babeja, was released in 1994 and earned a tremendous amount with bumper opening and was a superhit. It was one of the highest -grossing films of this year.
