pollution in delhi
New Delhi: The situation is bad in Delhi due to pollution. In such a situation, Delhi government has taken a big decision. To reduce pollution in Delhi, Delhi government has decided to implement work from home policy in government offices.
What is the meaning of this decision?
Under this decision, 50% of Delhi government employees will work from home. For its implementation, a meeting will be held with officials at 1 pm today in the Secretariat.
Environment Minister had recently said this
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Tuesday had said a decision would soon be taken on implementing work-from-home measures and the odd-even scheme to deal with the city’s deteriorating air quality. Gopal Rai had said that people including children and senior citizens are struggling to breathe and we deeply regret this situation.
He had said that the air quality in Delhi has remained in the severe plus category since Sunday. Regarding implementing work from home in private and government companies of Delhi, the minister had said that we will take a decision on this soon. The government has already imposed several restrictions on vehicles under Grape-IV. We are analyzing the impact of these measures. After this, a decision will be taken on running the vehicles in the capital on the odd-even formula.
Gopal Rai had also said that ‘GRAP’ should be implemented in the whole of North India. Targeting BJP, he had said that rules are being violated in BJP ruled states. BJP’s environment minister is sleeping despite Delhi government’s repeated requests to call an emergency meeting regarding the serious pollution situation. I request the Union Environment Minister to once again call an emergency meeting on pollution and allow artificial rain.
