MG Motors has increased the price of its compact SUV Astor by up to Rs 27,000. MG had launched the facelift of Astor in the Indian market this year. The car has more than 49 safety features along with 14 Level-2 ADS features. Apart from this, the SUV comes with Personal AI Assistance like before.
Its Savvy Pro 1.3 Turbo AT (Sangria Red) variant, CVT (Ivory) and 1.5 CVT (Sangria Red) models have become costlier by Rs 27,000. On the other hand, the Sharp Pro 1.5-litre CVT (Ivory) has been increased by Rs 26,000. The company has increased the price of Select 1.5 CVT (Ivory) of the SUV by Rs 21,000 and the price of Sharp Pro 1.5-litre MT (Ivory) variant by Rs 24,000.
Similarly, the price of Select 1.5-litre MT (Ivory) and Shine 1.5-litre MT (Ivory) variants has increased by Rs 20,000. Earlier in June this year, the price of Astor was increased by Rs 26,800. Prices for the SUV start at Rs 9.98 lakh and go up to Rs 18.35 lakh (prices, ex-showroom).
In India, it competes with Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyrider, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq.
The new Astor is available in 6 color options.
What’s new in 2024 MG Astor
The new Astor comes with many new features like front ventilated seats, auto dimming IRVM and wireless phone charger. The car now gets 49+ safety features including 360 degree around view camera and 14 level-2 ADS safety features.
A 10.1-inch infotainment system now comes standard across all variants of the SUV and has been upgraded with Smart 2.0 UI. It now has more connected car features than ever before, including Jio voice recognition system along with weather, news, calculator and voice commands. Its infotainment system now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
2024 MG Astor : Features Like the current model, the car has features like automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, 6-way power adjustable driver seat. For passenger safety, it has been provided with safety features like 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill ascent and descent control and heated ORVM.
It also has Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), under which features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane-Keeping/Departure Assist, Blind Spot Detection are available.
2024 MG Astor : performance No changes have been made in the engine and gearbox of the new MG Aster. Like before, two engine options are available in it. It has a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine generating 110ps power and 144Nm torque.
At the same time, another 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine is available, which generates power of 140ps and torque of 220Nm. For transmission, the option of 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and CVT gearbox is given.
