Gujarat: On Sunday, a 30-year-old man raped a 10-month-old girl in Bharuch. A neighbour who used to play with the girl committed this atrocity. According to the information, he was playing with the girl and took her to his house and then allegedly raped her. Police said that a 30-year-old man living in Panoli village kidnapped the girl when she was playing with her grandmother.

Talking about the incident, Deputy Superintendent of Police Kushal Ojha said the girl was in the courtyard with her grandmother when a neighbour came and promised to give her wafers at his home. “When her grandmother heard the girl’s screams and rushed there, she saw the girl bleeding due to injuries on her private parts. The girl was rushed to Bharuch Civil Hospital. The accused has been arrested after a case of rape and sexual assault was registered under the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act,” Ojha told PTI.
The girl was admitted to the hospital, her condition is critical
On getting to know about the incident, the angry locals of the village caught the accused person and handed him over to the police. According to the NDTV report, the police said that the man was a friend of the child’s parents and often visited their house to play with the child. The girl’s mother works in a restaurant and she took her to the hospital. The report said that due to the severity of the injuries and excessive bleeding, the condition of the girl has deteriorated. A case has been registered under the BNS and POCSO Act and legal proceedings are currently underway in the case. The man will be produced before a magistrate soon.
