Tata Motors has launched the updated Tata Punch in India. The company has updated the feature list of the compact SUV. Now features like 10.25-inch touchscreen and wireless phone charger have been included in the car. Apart from this, the company has added some new variants to the Punch variant lineup. At the same time, some variants have been discontinued. However, its exterior and interior design remains the same as before.
The ex-showroom price of its base variant is only Rs 6.13 lakh, but the ex-showroom price of the top-spec trim has come down by about Rs 20,000 from Rs 10.20 lakh. The company is offering a discount of up to Rs 18,000 on the car till October 31. The 2024 Tata Punch competes with the Hyundai Xcent, Citroen C3, Maruti Ignis, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
What’s New in 2024 Tata Punch The updated SUV now gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen instead of the 7-inch screen and a new center armrest has also been included. Apart from this, features like wireless phone charger, Type-C fast charger, rear AC vents and more have also been added to the car.
At the same time, a silver touch has been given around the AC vents on the dashboard, which was given a body color finish in the old Punch. The seats of the Punch still have fabric upholstery, but its design has been updated.
At the same time, orange color has been removed from the exterior color list of Tata Punch, it is still available in the CNG version. The variant lineup of the compact SUV has also been updated.

Tata Punch: Engine and Power There has been no change in the engine of the updated Tata Punch. For performance, it has a 1.2 liter 3-cylinder bi-fuel petrol engine, which generates 86 bhp of power and 113Nm of torque. At the same time, in CNG mode, this engine generates 73.4 bhp and 103Nm of torque. For transmission, the engine has been tuned with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the regular petrol variants of the car also get the option of a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
Exterior: 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels The exterior design of the 2024 Tata Punch remains the same as before. Its front has halogen projector headlamps and fog lamps. Its lower bumper has tri-arrow elements with black design. Chunky door handles and 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels are available on the side. At the same time, halogen taillamps and rear wiper have been provided at the rear.
Features : Automatic AC and Electronic Stability Control The cabin of the new Tata Punch has a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, height adjustable driver seat, automatic AC and cruise control. Apart from this, features like automatic headlamps, shark fin antenna, auto folding ORVM, LED DRLs, rain-sensing wipers, connected car technology and push button start-stop have also been provided. The top variant of the car also gets an electric sunroof with voice command. The safety feature list of the Punch includes features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control and rear parking camera.
The country’s cheapest CNG car in the SUV segment Tata first launched the car in India in October 2021. After this, Punch iCNG was introduced with twin cylinder technology in August 2023. In the sub-4 meter SUV segment, Punch iCNG is India’s cheapest CNG car equipped with twin-cylinder technology. Its starting price is Rs 7.23 lakh and 26 Km/Kg mileage is being claimed. Punch is also the cheapest CNG car with 5 star safety rating.
Safety feature to detect gas leaks Tata Motors has provided a gas leak detection safety feature in the Punch iCNG. In case of CNG leakage in the car, the leak detection technology automatically shifts the car from CNG to petrol mode. This technology also alerts the driver about the gas leak.
Apart from this, a micro switch has been provided to keep the car off while filling fuel. This switch turns off the ignition as soon as the fuel lid is opened. It does not allow the car to start until the fuel lid is securely closed. It also gives an alert of ‘close fuel lid’ on the instrument cluster.
Large boot space eliminates luggage storage hassles Twin cylinder cars have more boot space than other CNG cars. Punch iCNG has a boot space of 210 liters. With this technology, the boot space of Tiago and Tigor has also increased. However, the company has not yet given information about it. With a single cylinder, Tiago had a boot space of 80 liters and Tigor had a boot space of 205 liters.
