Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has launched its premium motorcycles CBR650R and CB650R updated models in the Indian market today (May 10).
Both the middle of the middleweight segment are now equipped with Honda’s e-clutch technology. Apart from this, seven traction control systems of dual channel ABS have also been provided.
40 thousand rupees became expensive motorcycles
With the new update, the price of both motorcycles has increased by about 40 thousand rupees. The ex-showroom price of CBR650R has been kept at Rs 10.40 lakh. At the same time, the ex-showroom of CB650R is priced at Rs 9.60 lakh.
The CBR650R Grand Prix is available in red mats and gunpowder black metallic color, while CB650R provides candy chromosphere red and matte gunpowder black metallic color options. In the Middleweight segment, CBR650R directly competes with Triumph Detona 660 and Suzuki GSX-8R, while CB650R competes with Triumph Trident 660.
Performance: 20-25kmpl Arai claimed mileage Both motorcycles have a single engine for performance. These include 4-stroke of 649cc, 16 Valve Dohc, Inline 4, liquid cooled petrol engine, which generates power of 95.17PS and torque of 63Nm. For transmission, this engine is tuned with a 6-speed gearbox.
Both bikes now come with Honda’s e-clutch technique, which facilitates shifting gear without using clutch liver. This is quite convenient in traffic or during sporty riding. The e-clutch variants are 2.8 kg heavy from the standard model.
The inline-4 engine is smooth and high-reving, which is best for speed on highway and controlled in the city. Low-to-mode range torque is good, which makes overtaking and quick acceleration easier. The CBR650R provides 25kmpl and CB650R Arai claimed mileage of 20-25kmpl, which depends on riding style in real-world conditions.
Hardware and features: disc brake with dual channel ABS 2025 CBR650R and 2025 CB650R have similar hardware. These include 41mm Shova Inverted Forks and Rear Monoshock for comfort riding with preload adjustability. At the same time, 310mm twin front disk and 240mm rear disc brakes have been provided with dual channel ABS standard for braking.
Brakes are sharp and response, which give confidence in high-speed riding. In CBR650R, ABS and HSTC increase emergency braking and safety in slips conditions.
Both bikes now have a 5 -inch color TFT instrument console, which supports Bluetooth connectivity with the Honda Roadsink app. The features include turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS notifications. In addition, they get full LED lighting (headlamps, taillights, indicators).
